Online A level resources
Hi,
I wondered if we could start a thread with useful websites for A level study.
I've found these free ones:
http://www.physics-online.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.mathsnetalevel.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.mrbartonmaths.com/pupils.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Brilliant maths and further maths support on all three. We also found some good Chemistry and Physics ones and I will try to track them down again.

Re: Online A level resources
https://www.khanacademy.org
This is a free online resource multi award winning resource.
I have used it for the past 3 years now. It doesn't follow a syllabus as such but explains the key topics. I have found that there is no right or wrong method, just that the final answer must be correct.

Re: Online A level resources
Unfortunately though if students work in that way they are likely to end up in a mess as most of the marks for A level Maths are awarded for method.sbarnes wrote: I have found that there is no right or wrong method, just that the final answer must be correct.
DD reckons that the only useful resources for her were the exam specification and as many past papers as were available. And it turns out her strategy was a good one. By A level I suppose they all work in different ways and have to do what works for them.
Re: Online A level resources
Watching carefully for hints and tips without wanting to reveal subjects (risk of outing!!)... (Some people want it all ways). DD seems to know all the information but isn't terribly good at exam technique.
scary mum
Re: Online A level resources

WARNING
Don't use khanacademy - it is not approved by maths teachers as it does not always follow appropriate methods.

Re: Online A level resources
Khan academy is a fantastic resource for all subjects; many of our friends children have benefited tremendously from this resource with excellent marks achieved at end of year examinations.
It's one of the most successful academic sites on the world and been awarded many excellent recommendations.

Re: Online A level resources
sbarnes - the maths is NOT good for A level revision.
I understand you are not a Maths teacher so perhaps you are not best placed to judge this?
