Judd / Skinners post
This has just been released by Judd & Skinners.
Good luck tomorrow and try not to worry too much if the score achieved is much less than you were hoping for as it looks like all the scores are way down on previous years.
Required PESE Score for Judd and Skinners’
September 2015 Entry
Parents whose children sat the PESE test this September will have been well aware that this year’s test was quite different to those that had preceded it.
Not only was there an English test for the first time, but the Maths paper was new (and tougher), and verbal and non-verbal reasoning tests were merged into one overall score. The result is that although the total possible score remains 423, overall scores have dropped considerably, rendering comparison with previous years misleading. The KCC ‘qualifying’ score for grammar school entry has dropped from 360 to 320. It is therefore inevitable that the entry score for Judd and Skinners’ will drop, possibly on a similar scale.
Clearly we do not yet know what score will be required for entry to our two schools; furthermore we would suggest that no-one is in a good position to declare authoritatively on the matter. What is clear is that the “equal preference” scheme works well and so we encourage parents who want to put us first or second choice on their SCAF to do just that, and not to be put off by an apparently lower than expected score.

Thanks very much for posting that. That's very helpful to see and could prevent a degree of panic tomorrow. Thoughtful of the heads to put it too. Good luck everyone!

What good common sense, a joint statement from the two schools and some concrete information. Hope it helps all those waiting for results tomorrow.
Good luck to all your dc's .

That's really helpful!
No word from TOGS but I'm assuming that the same will apply.
So on that basis, 340 - 350 may be a very good score?!
But who knows!

Who would have thought that 340-350 could potentially be an excellent score for the kent test! Fingers crossed all our DC gain a good passPurpleDog wrote:That's really helpful!

Thanks for posting, I'm so glad I saw it before tomorrow - anything over 350 must be pretty good then, we don't get actual marks until Friday, it's going to be a looooooong week all in all!
