Please can anyone tell me why the answer to q 10 in section 1 is c and not b

I have looked at it several times but I just cannot see why

It is a 90 degree clockwise rotation! I think!

not b - because the half the shape has the fills reversed thus c!

In my copy q10 in section 1 NFER(11A) the answer is 'A'

In the example the white semi-circle with the black stripe in the middle is rotated 90' anti-clockwise, and then an 'opposite mirror image' is added to it, to make a whole shape.

The answer is 'a', because the the black semi-hexagon with the white stripe through the middle needs to also be rotated by 90' in an anti-clockwise direction and an 'opposite mirror image' needs to be added to complete the whole shape.

I dont understand how the answer can be anything but a 180 degree turn because that is what the test shape has done.
The only other way is for the shape to be flipped rather than rotated, but that goes against all of the other answers.
I have been told you never flip a shape and only ever to rotate.

I think the answers are swapped depending on when it was published. anyway, am I right in thinking that the answer should be that the shaded triangle should be on the top left ?

Yes - I should have checked first - the answer I have is A!! There is an anticlockwise 90 degree rotation, and a mirror image with the fills swapped. This would bring the vertex ends in the centre as opposed to the flat side.

Can you check which paper you are referring to guest.

Looking at 11A standard that arrived last week. Q10 looks multi-layer but.

Rotate 90 degrees anti-clockwise. So can only be a.

The rest is a red herring.

Add a mirror image.

Invert black&white on mirror image. Confirms a.

Had to look three times to realise the first step is all you need.
