Which school? or is your question general?

Admission policy of the schools would give details of catchment area. for example.
1. Tiffin School - 14 km radius from a particular school entrance. No open places.
2. Sutton Grammar - post-code based covering Sutton borough and little bit of surrounding area for catchment places; 60 open places as well.
3. Nonsuch High - 5.25 km radius for catchment places; 85 open places as well.

Your can use google maps or freemap tools to work out straight line distance from your home address to school. Hope this helps.

If you find that you are very close to the boundary, it might be a good idea to ask the school / LA as appropriate if they would give you your 'official' distance, as the one they will use is according to the specific software that they use, if you see what I mean.

WCGS (and Wilson's) has no catchment. It's open selective.

Distance is used as a tie-breaker.

Hi ,
I am new to this page. We are in 5.78km radius from Wallington school and out of catchment for Nonsuch. My DD pass Wallington and 305 for Non such. Now we are worrying whether she will even get Wallington or not????? We are still in catchment though 6.7 km for Wallington is a big area. Any idea

Babs,
Not sure if this would help as well.

"The following website http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/iny ... istance.pl will give you an indication of the priority area by calculating the distance between your postcode and the .... School postcode."
