grantham area V AND NV question types

Post by Libs »

Does anyone have info about the verbal and non-verbal question types for the Grantham, Lincs area? (11+ Sept 2008) There seems to be a lot of literature 'out there' but would really like to make informed choices - a completely new experience for us. Many thanks...

This is the Buckinghamshire section of the forum and as Bucks is nowhere near Grantham, I doubt you'll have much luck here. Try posting in the Lincolnshire section. :)

ah but if you were up last night you wi11 have seen that this was first posted in the Bucks section.

It has been moved by some kind spirit in the Super-Mods Department, easily traceable and not lost like 2 very important CDs in the National News.

VR Test:
100 Questions in 50 minutes
Standard Format
Set by NFER
Need to know all 21 question types (as published by IPS) plus a couple of extras like mixed letter and number codes and "crosswords"

NVR Test:
65 questions
Last year and this, questions organised into 4 sections of 16 questions plus an extra in one of the sections. 8 minutes to complete each section.
Standard Format
Set by NFER
Same question types as are found in the NFER Nelson published practice tests.

Tests are the same for all Lincolnshire Grammars except Caistor. Pass mark is a standardised aggregate score of 220 across the two tests with no obligation to score a "pass" in either one individually.

King's School allocates on score order, but has not been oversubscribed in the last couple of years when any pass would get you a place.

Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School follows the County admissions policy so requirement is only to pass and places are allocated with priority to siblings and then on driving distance from the school.

Plenty of advice on practice materials on this Lincolnshire Section of the forum.
