Engineering - Birmingham, Bath, Loughborough and Warwick

How much 'theory' vs 'practical'?

How well supported is a placement in industry?

What is assessment like? Group assignments? Exams?

In terms of ranking we recruit Mechanical Engineers from the universities in the following order
Warwick, Loughborough, Birmingham & Bath (for what its worth).

Warwick is world renowned for it's Engineering Dept.. Including mech.

unfortunately with the glut of graduates out there from universities, we the employers can afford to be very choosy and go on the universities reputation. Of course we look at the course and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, if I were choosing for grad day, I would look at the order as previously stated. Conversely grads from uber uni's such as Oxf/Camb and also the best one in the land namely Imp, would not consider places such as our company. It works both ways.

We hear on the news there is a shortage of engineers, is that not your experience?
