Group 2 Consortium Exam on Friday - no specifics please
How did DD's find the exam on Friday.
DD thought the English was quite straightforward. Not a text she had come across before ( easy to understand) but still time pressured. Luckily she managed to finish the paper.
Maths was a typical consortium paper too.

Maybe it was just the weather. Or the nervousness of taking a serious test for the first time!!
How did rest of the exams go?

My DD found the reading comprehension much tricker than the old NLC example tests that we downloaded for her to do in preparation. She was happy with her writing piece, though she said she wrote less than a full page. She felt that the maths was very similar to the old tests that she had tried.
I wonder what the "pass mark" is to be invited back for an interview at CLSG.

Yes good question - I would think city would call back with marks over 75% on both papers? Maybe an 80% for maths would secure an interview.
We didn't apply to city - would have liked to but too far for us

My DD managed to finish both papers and said she thought they were ok. Didn't quiz her too much as we can't change anything so we shall wait and see now.
Just hoping she hasn't misread/ misunderstood questions now given feedback above.

I did try not to ask too many questions - but it is hard isn't it.

My DD came out wanting to tell me all about it. It was interesting that her assessment changed over the day. At first she said the maths was "easy." As the day went on, she kept thinking about different questions and realising that she had probably made mistakes. I am sure she did misunderstand and misread some questions across the test. But then I figure, they are all just 10 or 11 year olds and it seems pretty normal that they will get nervous and make silly mistakes.

Yes I would think that mistakes due to nerves is a normal part of the exam.
Bit worried Dd said that the comp was ok - seems that it wasn't - and perhaps she has misunderstood the passage ?

Likewise, I wonder whether my DD may not have fully grasped passages in the comprehension section with deeper or more subtle meaning. I say this because she told me that all of the English sections she encountered in her 11+ exams this week were more or less straightforward (which I find surprising).
But as coolmum123 noted, we can't change anything now.

On the flip side, I worry that my DD was trying too hard on the reading comprehension and confused herself. But, as you say, we can't change anything now! We are applying to more than one school. I am sure it will all be for the best in the end, and DD will end up at the right school for her.
