St Albans boys second stage

Letters are out. We received ours this morning, very very happy son has been invited back as he loves the school. Am hoping the next stage is not too tough and the odds are good that he's close to an offer. Good luck to all those waiting.

My son has got through the second stage for St. Albans boys. After disappointing news from DAO, QE, HABS, this is our first bit of good news. Hopefully he will be successful in the second round. Good luck to all who are waiting for their posts. Any ideas how many are invited and how many offers will be given?

Any idea on how will be the second stage and also what is the ratio of getting a place.

Hi the odds are good on securing a place. The children attend a couple of lessons for the morning. Of the five boys we knew who were invited back last year all secured a place. Good luck it's a great school!

It is really just a rubber stamp to see how your ds behaves in a classroom and with a group of other boys and to see who is still interested before they issue an offer. I know boys with interviews at MT, Westminster, Habs and St Albans so there will be some dropouts at this stage who feel confident of an offer from another higher ranked school in their personal preferences. Well done to all those who got the letter this morning. Anyone still waiting? DG

Are the boys taken out separately for one to one interviews in second round?

No, they have already had their interview on the exam day. Those chosen for the second round would have needed to have performed well in the three exams and the interview so the job is almost done. They just need to be engaged and inclusive on Friday and an offer will follow. DG
