Possibly one test for Nonsuch/ Wallington next year
I went to the meeting about the MAT at Wally girls last night.
One of the things that came out of it was that for 2017 entry they will probably do one test for both schools after the SET.
Parents would then fill in their CAF just as they do now.
Feel so glad I am out the other side of this but if they go ahead it will be a shame that the girls only get one go at the second stage.
Lots of very able girls we know didn't pass the Wally second stage this year but then went on to do well at Nonsuch. The feeling amongst some parents was that the Wally exam the week before had got them ready for Nonsuch.
Let's face it we can all have a bad couple of hours.Shame to only get one go when the boys get more.

Six or Seven years ago I remember that Nonsuch and Wallington had a joint test of Maths and Verbal reasoning. So its a bit like going back to the future. Lol!

If there is just one test, worrying thing would be if they adopt Wally Girls non-transparency.

Can you explain the differences, TB? What is the non-transparency?

The way test results are conveyed. Does any one know the Wally Girls way of standardizing scores or the maximum scores? Nonsuch was more open than Wally Girls and gave results before CAF dates in more meaningful way. Wally Girls would only give pass/fail.

At the Nonsuch Open Evening today, the 'acting assistant headteacher' or whatever he was described as explained the plan for the multi academy trust but made it very clear that test arrangements were not changing.
