Missed B'HAM KE Test application deadline

Just found out that a friend of ds has missed yesterday's deadline to apply to sit the test in September
Can't believe they missed it- everyone's had weeks to apply. Such a shame as he's very bright academically.
Is there any recourse to enter now or is yesterday's deadline final?

Sorry to hear that, but if the dp phone them with their plea of a compelling excuse as to why they missed the deadline, the authority may be sympathetic, especially since they have only just missed the deadline date. Good Luck!

I'm sorry to say that from what I understand, if you miss the deadline then that's that!

To be honest though, I know the family will be kicking themselves, but they have had weeks to register for this test, so no excuse really to miss the deadline!

Maybe if there are extreme circumstances as so why this was done, maybe the consortium will be sympathetic

It is the first test of how serious you are about wanting to apply. If you don't get around to applying then is it really high up on your priority list?

They should phone up asap and see if they will relent. DG

What is the alternative? Not having any deadlines and letting anyone just pitch up for the exam.

Our society consists of deadlines. Turn up late for the flight or the train and you miss it. Turn up late for a GCSE and you will miss some of the time. Apply late for anything offered at the school and you probably will not get a place.

Being late for things tends to show that it is not that important to you. Perhaps that is not the case and they have already personally visited the school to try and remedy the situation. DG
