11 plus appeal giving me headache already

Post by vic1389 »

Hi my daughter got 327 as her total score 101 maths 112 English and 114 verb 5 points under in maths she wants me to appeal I have looked at some advice and booked to see her head teacher on Monday, What questions should i be asking? she has always been quite high on her grades in school if I need to gather evidence of her work what sort of things do I take to the appeal, she wants to go to invicta what's the intake like and are many appeals successful I know I am asking all this quite early but want to be prepared in advance also in the last 2 years her school has gone through 3 head teachers and her teacher in yr 5 was taken sick for a few months so my daughters class ended up with different supply teachers for a while which disrupted her learning

Hi Vic, sorry you didn't get the result you expected. I found it was best to ask early and get prepared for the appeal asap. I am Bucks so can't offer any help, but I know that everyone on here really does their best to help :-) Good luck and I am sure someone in the know will be along soon.

Vic, did your DDs result go for a Head teachers assessment? I'm in a similar predicament and the wait till next year seems so far away.

You can read my thread here

As there is a link to an faq which is useful.

Hiya, find my thread in the appeals section from last year, virtually the same situation. It has loads of info on it. Also see my outcome in the appeals section for details on past years etc. I'll see if I can link to them for you.

my thread..... http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum/ ... 35&t=39606" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

feedback thread link... http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum/ ... =35&t=9205" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; my write up is right near the end

I'm no expert on appeals but I'm happy to help having been where you are last year.

Have you looked at the FAQ on the appeal section of the forum? That's a good starting point.

I will move this post to appeals, where I am sure someone will be able to help. It's likely to get lost here on the Kent board.

Hello!
I am not an "expert" as such in appeal, but I am an expert parent as I had to appeal last year, and i went all the way with it, spending hours/days/months reading/researching for the appeal. It is a long process, but it is worth doing it. (we won the appeal).
I am happy to help/support if and when needed.
All the best.
