could anyone help with this maths question please
Yesterday, the reading on mr smith's electricity meter was 098157. He was shocked to realise that all six of these digits are different. How many more units of electricity will he use before the next time all the digits are different ??? THANKS

This is much easier than you think...

Just start counting on and you will get there very quickly.

Easily shocked this Mr Smith ain't he?!
Imagine his reaction when his meter rolls over to 100000 all reads all 1's or something. I hope his heart can take it!

I think I would have said something like 'amused' rather than 'shocked', personally. I thought it was going to be a problem solving question detailing how much electricity various appliances use, which ones should he turn off, etcProud_Dad wrote:Easily shocked this Mr Smith ain't he?!

Yeah, something along the lines of how much lower would his meter reading have been if his kids remembered to turn the bl00dy lights off when they left a room!ToadMum wrote:I think I would have said something like 'amused' rather than 'shocked', personally. Let's hope he doesn't get any other kind of shock from his electricity meter - or perhaps he uses it in replace of a defibrillator.
