Grammar schools becoming academies!!

Hi everyone

What are your thoughts on the 5 grammar schools in Birmingham becoming a Multi-academy Trust?

The grammar schools are academies already. And the King Edward schools are linked through the Foundation. I can't see there being much of a difference.

The difference will be that a MAT will be able to sponsor other schools locally and nationally, relatively freely, should any schools either choose to join a MAT as part of their transition to becoming an academy, or require an academy sponsor to take them over due to school failures/closure from the DFE.
