According to our new text books commas are out, there is a gap instead. I prefer commas.
Re: New national curriculum commas in big numbers
In many countries, though, the comma is used where we use a 'dot' and a space is used where we put a comma. So '31,6' is what we would usually write as '31.6' and our '31,458' would be interpreted as a number a thousand times smaller than the writer intendedyoyo123 wrote:According to our new text books commas are out, there is a gap instead. We had a Spanish girl in our year 5 class a while ago , it was very confusing suddenly coming across her book in a pile of marking, so I can see why it is just a space.
(Still like commas though!)

No new guidance then about use of commas or otherwise?
