VR for Bexley (CEM), Kent (GL), St Olaves (plain hard!)
I am going around in circles - please can someone help?
DS will be sitting these tests Sept 2016. He has little knowledge of codes other than the Bond books (10-11 VR). Looking at the sample St Olaves paper we need to really step up the VR/Logic type stuff. I have a Susan Daughtrey book (Book 1 of a series - can't find it at the moment but it seemed quite easy where she explains some code types).
Can anyone recommend the code types we need to know the technique/practise for for the above tests please?

DS felt that the sample paper was a lot harder than the real one. I can't be absolutely sure though as St Olaves did not give out any score at the end of first round. Based on my limited experience with DS, I would suggest you to NOT be anxious about the reasoning papers. The material in the market and recommendations on the other posts are good enough.

Don't panic. DD did Bexley, Kent and Newstead this last year and passed all. Now St Olaves is a different proposition as so many can take it but Bexley and Kent are not so difficult. Key to the latter two are wanting to do it and then a combination of time and vocabulary. Good luck.

Athey, Walsh and The tutors have lots of codes questions to work with. DG

P.s for Bexley and Kent they have sample questions on their respective pages to register for the tests. Also we didn't really practice particular code types just built on DD's vocabulary skills. We found the Letts 10 minute tests quite good.

Thank you for the replies and for the suggested move on books. We now have the Letts and some Athey books so will work through those next.

Hello...have a question...
With Bexley becoming CEM, are the code questions relevant for the exams ?

CEM does not include coding or alphabetical sequences. DG
