"Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away."

Those words are very very relevant for me today
Re: Allocations day clock
If time were a full stop like this one→. And you exploded the full stop to be the size of the universe, it is said that the smallest fraction of time in that full stop universe, would be the same size as a full stop.
From that perspective were all living in total fast forward time

Re: Allocations day clock
Forgetting time being the fourth dimension or the speed of time with the special theory of general relativity all I want to know is when did time go into fast forward ? When I was a child time moved slowly and there came a time it went into forward motion and it has been gathering momentum and speed ever since. So much so its my younger brothers sons 21st birthday today but I remember his birth like yesterday.Petitpois wrote:If time were a full stop like this one→. Interesting watch, especially the older lot not really being able to estimate time accurately, how long till allocations days now?
Re: Allocations day clock
Thank you old trout for offering a rational and scientific explanation of my and others experience of time and its speed with your first link.OldTrout wrote:Thinking about time....

Re: Allocations day clock
By the time you go to beddy byes tonight it will be 9 days and counting.
Reading a story in the rag today about a lady that sold her house to pay private school fees for her daughter. Daughter decides it all gone a bit Pete Tong, so decides to chuck in her A levels and is now selling shots in magaluf (or will be in three months time). All helps keep me firmly focused on that clock really!!
