Allocation Day 2016

Post by salsa »

Good luck to everyone today. Please remember that not all will get their desired school today. Please don't despair and remember that there is a second round of allocations for which you will need to fill in a form provided by KCC. Do send the form recorded delivery as there have been lost in the past. I would also get a confirmation email. The waiting list will be administered by the council until the second round. Then, it will be the individual schools which will keep the lists.

It would be helpful if you could post the minimum scores needed for certain schools where this matters. This to give an idea to those who didn't get in on the first round. Of course every year is different, but it would give a rough indication.

Good luck everyone!

Last year we had a pleasant surprise when our email arrived at 11:15am but suspect it will be a long wait until 4pm!

Good point. Some emails go to the Junk mail folder, so please do check it too.

Good luck everyone waiting - it was hideous last year not knowing what the cut offs were! (Although last year East Sussex got their allocations early in the day and were kind enough to post, so Kent people had a good idea whether they had got their sons into Skinners' and Judd based on scores).

Hope everyone gets what they want (we are more or less on the doorstep of TWGGS so am hoping that should be ok for DD!) and don't panic if you don't - I have several friends who got the 'right' school for their child in the end after the waiting lists and appeals had all shaken out.

East Sussex have sent out their emails early again this year.

Sadly no good news for us this year.

We haven't been allocated any of the schools we asked for so will have to wait for 29th April.

If anyone has any knowledge about how far the catchment area stretches for Weald, it would be appreciated.

Many thanks!

We have also had the email from East Sussex. Our daughter got a place at TOGs. Her score was 388. Hope that is useful for others waiting. Good luck to everyone.

Congratulations to her!
My elder daughter is at TGS and loves it.
Whereabouts in East Sussex are you? Will she get the train or bus?

We got Weald of Kent, we are OOC in Wadhurst.

So relieved, good luck to everyone else!

Congratulations to those who have heard and are happy with their schools. When sharing your good news at the playground, please be mindful of other children as there will be some sad faces today. That is the reason why the emails are supposed to be sent after 4 p.m.

PurpleDog, I take it there is no sibling policy at TGS? Hopefully your child gets in on the second round.

Thanks Salsa - no sibling rule for TGS, it is all based on scores.
