Judy, my mother, and Tomy, my father, went to visit Grandpa.

The only way I can interpret this sentence is that Judy and Tomy are the mother and father of the person who went to visit his/her Grandpa.

And you can remove the words surrounded by commas without changing the meaning of the sentence.
