Test Paper
Is it possible to know the actual final paper mark or do you only ever find if you have been accepted/ranked/not accepted?
Re: Test Paper
The old style test gave you your mark, but the new test does not. You only receive a ranking or "not ranked".
Re: Test Paper
That's really frustrating as you don't know if they got 1% or 80%, not that there's anything you can do now but....cazien wrote:The old style test gave you your mark, but the new test does not. You only receive a ranking or "not ranked".

It was very frustrating for us - DS failed by half-a-pointTricky123 wrote:

Re: Test Paper
I don't think it is entirely accurate to say that you used to get the mark. What you used to get is an age adjusted score. It wasn't a percentage mark of what you had passed or failed.
So when ds went to Marling, he had a score of *** and a rank of yyy. But that score was not the number of questions passed. The 'pass mark' was set at 217 I think and the score was adjucted according to age and also according to cohort, so they scored the test so that the right number of kids passed to approx fill the places. So a very large or clever cohort would get different scores in the same test as a smaller or less good cohort.

Interesting - in 2011 we did not receive any rankings when DS2 had a qualifying scores:?steppemum wrote:So when ds went to Marling, he had a score of *** and a rank of yyy.
Re: Test Paper
actually cazien, I think you are right we had a qualifying score, and if you phoned up they would give you some idea of where you ranked, without giving you an actual ranking.?
The woman on the phone said somehting like - Oh you have a score of 230, and we went down to 219 last year, so you should be fine. (higher number being better than lower number as it is score not a rank)
