2017 entry - chances of KEGS or CRGS

Post by Ashtara »

I am hoping some of you with children already at KEGS or CRGS can advise based on offers in previous years.

DS got SS score of 337.38. We are I/C for KEGS and actually live in the middle of KEGS and CRGS.

As DS is just outside yellow zone into Amber, what are his chances of getting into either school?

Hi Ashtara

There is always a chance! My friend's DS was offered a place off the waiting list at the end of the first week at CRGS this year with a score of 337 which they declined. Each year's cohort will be different so the cut off point varies. It's definitely worth applying.

Hi Ashtara,

The collated cut-offs for 2016 is one of the sticky threads at the top and it shows what scores managed to get a place on March 1st and the waiting list positions and any subsequent offers have been updated by Blitz.

For KEGS
i/c 336.79 offered
i/c 335.965 not offered (2nd on the w/l- offered 27.6.16)

I think you certainly have a good chance. Good luck :)

I think you have a good chance at both schools. I would advice you to put the schools down in your preference order. As previous posts suggest, each cohort is different and waiting lists do move :)

Do make sure your CAF is in preference order and don't just put the school you think he is most likely to get into as first choice.
You may be 'on top of this ' but in the past some people in a similar situation have got confused.
If he doesn't get a place at his first choice he will still be on the waiting list for that school and no less likely to be offered a place at his second choice than if he had put it first.
