Advise on Slough consortium schools

Post by Pothineni »

Hi,

I live in Reading and my daughter obtained a score of 117 in Slough consortium exam. Is there any possibility for her getting a seat in either of the school?

Many thanks for your help.

While you are considering whether she will get a place, please also consider how she is going to get to school as well.
Last week's two incidents of the M4 highlight the pains of traveling any distance in the Thames Valley, and the impact on all the other roads locally when the M4 closes.

It's a good point. Last week M4 was terrible. If she managed to get a seat in either of the schools, I am planning to relocate..

I think that would be wise. I have colleagues who travel from the east and west of Reading. The M4 towards London isn't great at the best of times. most have one bad journey a week on average.

You also need to consider how to manage after school activities, detentions, parents evenings, evening events such as concerts, picking up if they are ill etc.

True.. It is not going to be easy. Need to think carefully before filling the form. Next two weeks are going to be very difficult..

Try the route yourself this week to see what it is like at school start and finish times. Obviously not next week as that's half term and won't be a good guide.
