Last year's SET 2015 for WCGS
Please could anyone share, how many boys did WCGS pass last year from SET 2015?
Is it as high as Sutton allowing 746 boys through second stage?
Our son didn't pass second stage for Sutton and unlikely to pass Wilson second stage, so only hope we hanging on to is him passing Wallington front tge SET test.

Re: Last year's SET 2015 for WCGS
Are you able to calculate your DS's SET score from the information Sutton have given you? Ie, is there a way of deducting the second stage score to leave you with the SET?
If not, Sutton might be willing to give you the SET now that your son is sadly no longer eligible for a place there. May be worth asking.
Also, you never know about Wilsons - keep the faith

How many were first preferences?
Re: Last year's SET 2015 for WCGS
Thank you all for kind words and support.
Looking at his results from Sutton, looks like he didn't score well in SET Maths - 60% SET Maths 78.33. For English SET 60% got 94.66.
For SECOND STAGE Sutton test he got 90% Maths 80.98 and English 90% 99.49.
Looking at his SET performance, abit concern that if WCGS have passed around 700 boys too, then my son may rank quite low.
Sit and wait game now until March.

Re: Last year's SET 2015 for WCGS
On the other hand, Wilson's use the SET score for only 20% of the total, so a weak SET is easier to overcome by a good performance in stage 2. Find out soon

HSP2201 keep the faith.
I hope you don't mind me asking - are those marks standardised or raw?
I have my son's raw and standardised scores as he narrowly missed the SET pass mark for SGS and Wilson, and yet his scores were higher than this? Is your son very young? Sorry to sabotage, but I'm just really confused.
Thanks

Re: Last year's SET 2015 for WCGS
Sorry for late reply. I received the following information from Sutton yesterday, detailing scores
60% of Selective Eligibility Test (English) 94.66
60% of Selective Eligibility Test (Maths) 78.33
90% of Second Stage English Test 99.49
90% of Second Stage Maths Test 80.98
Giving a total score of 266.22
The pass mark was 270.
In terms of raw or standardised scores, I don't know which scores you mean.
From the SET test back in September, we didn't get any scores given. Only got told son met pass mark to sit second stage tests for wilson and Sutton and wallington confirmed he met their criteria to put wcgs on CAF form. I remember the pass mark being 214 for wcgs and 212 for wilson/Sutton.
How do you work out or know raw or standardised scores?
Re sons age. He was 10 years 11 months old at time of testing. Just turned 11.
On the other hand, given a vote Sutton results, we find out today that he passed Wilson second stage. The scoring doesn't make sense to me as Wilsons have passed around 585 boys compared to Sutton 700 .

Re: Last year's SET 2015 for WCGS
Congratulations on passing Wilsons!
The SET score only accounted for 20% of the overall mark at Wilsons, so if you DS did a good job on the Wilsons second stage test, it would be enough to get him through, even though they didn't pass as many boys as Sutton.
Re the scores, there's no way to get back to raw scores from standardised scores. And I don't really understand the figures you've been given.
I can see that if you total 60% of the first two scores and 90% of the second two scores it gives you the 266.22 they have stated as the final mark. What I can't work out is how the SET scores relate to the first round scores. Not sure if anyone else here can figure it out?
