- Watford Area
The school will reserve 38 specialist places (60% of the total specialist places) for applicants whose permanent home address lies within the Watford Area [see note (i)]. In the event of more than 38 such applications, priority amongst them will be given according to these admission arrangements and criteria.- Rest of the Admission Area

Thanks, seems harsh to me, only 27 kids out o 180 were admitted on the test in the watford area, no wonder so many are disappointed.
Does anybody know what information am I entitled to under the freedom of information / data protection act?
The school have only issued a combined score (standardised) or my sons test. Can I ask or a breakdown o those scores and also or the break down for the lowest scoring entry.
If my son did say well in maths but lower in VR does this help at all ??
Can we have the post code area for those kids admitted etc……

Have you looked in the appeals section? I am sure I have read a post there by Etienne about FOI (not this week though & probably as a reply not topic so may be hard to find). I think you can request certain info, but only after a certain period of time or something - sorry, can't remember, but hope someone comes along who can help you.
WBS (& WGS) do make their admissions criteria on inner / outer clear although sometimes it sticks in the throat to know those OOC parents get 6 choices whereas in Herts we only get three.
Where is your son on the list? It seems from previous years there is quite a bit of movement on the WBS one.

I have a child in year 5 and am curious to know.
Watdad... from the audit report can you tell how many children were admitted on sibling and cross sibling criteria. Since the school has reduced the number of children they select via the test by 10%, it would be interesting to know how the 10% was allocated.

You can see these numbers for the previous three years in the Herts Moving On directory, and then apply the rules specified by the school. For example, in the Grammar schools the 18 places would have gone to cross siblings and then (if there were any left) to distance.hertsmum wrote:I have a child in year 5 and am curious to know.
