practise results

can anyone tell me how close to the real test are the practise tests the children are taken through at school. My son has been given the NFER practise tests at school and these appear to be harder then the ones I have brought also by NFER. He scoes 78/85 at home whilst getting 65/80 at school. Are these practsie tests a real indication of the real thing. I would appreciate all comments particuarly from anyone who has seen the real thing or indeed has a child who has taken the test last year.
