Good News!

Post by Katie »

I'd like to share some very good news with all the kind and supportive forum members who have helped us through the most difficult appeal experience imaginable.
Our DS has just passed all three elements of the 12+ for a school which appears (in Ofsted league tables) in the top ten in the country.
Our appeal failed along with our complaint to the Ombudsman for a fresh appeal. After a difficult year - some very happy news.
Good luck to anyone in a similar situation reading this post - don't give up. :) :) :) :) :)

Great. Out of interest, was it a different format to the 11+?

My panel has suggested on occasion, especially when there's a child who is definitely of grammar material, but were unsure if we will allow the appeal (as in half-way through a long list of appeals & can't allow all of them) that they try for 12+. This proves it's worth a try AND having passed outright (rather than having got in on appeal), means that he is of the right standard.

Well done.

Hi Katie,

Fantastic news for you and your DS :D :D

You were so kind and helpful to me a few weeks ago when we suffered a bit of a disappointment, and that's why I am absolutely delighted for you.
