Secondary admissions 2008

This link may be useful to anybody wanting to know how this years allocations went! Interesting how many put Pates down as 1st choice even though they knew the results already.

It did pay off for some....my friend's DD was placed 137th on the Pates list and was offered a place on 3 March.

Hi Burneth, good news for them, yes! How did your friend know what position her DC was on the list?

just being nosy, when my son was on the waiting list a few years ago, they wouldn't tell us his postion.
Have you got used to the thrill of him gaining his place?

Best wishes PM x2

Yes they were told in their result letter which position they were in...in fact I believe 121 to 160 were told their ranking, those under 120 were not and neither were those over 160.

It appears that a lot of children drop out/go elsewhere even before the first round of offers - or certainly didn't put Pates as a first preference even though they were guaranteed a place.

Strictly speaking my friend's DD didn't go onto the waiting list as she got her place straight off.
Have you got used to the thrill of him gaining his place?
I still pinch myself sometimes lol!
