Siblings Appeal
Could I ask how regard a sibling connection in secondary school appeals?
A sibling is a plus point at an oversubscription appeal, as is living in the catchment area.
Whether it is enough to win an appeal I cannot say. There are other factors to be taken into account, such as the strength of the authority's case, and probably the strength of other parental cases.
Can you match your child's educational needs with what is on offer at the school (and not available at the alternative schools), and provide proof? For example, if the school is a sports college, and your child excels at sport, it's a good point to make provided you have plenty of evidence of sporting ability.
The very strongest cases tend to have compelling social or medical reasons.
