ITS ONLY TAKEN US 21 MONTHS AND WE HAVE DONE IT!!
Hurrayyyyy..... OUR JOURNEY IS OVER
Just back from a fab holiday, appeal letter waiting in the letter box AND THE BOY DID GOOD....we passed the 12+ appeal and he is now going to attend his catchment grammar school in September in Year 8 - really can't believe we have succeeded in an appeal, it's not our specialist subject...
Can't believe he has finally got where he wanted to be almost two years after the event but it just goes to show, hang on in there all of you who have missed the 11+, failed the 11+ appeal, passed the 12+, not been allocated your first choice of grammar.
Hurray...... again....
He has lots of friends at the catchment grammar, the school bus will pick him up within walking distance of where we live with lots of other village kids, oh its great news for him and us knowing that he will be able to get to and from school and enjoy the benefits the school has to offer without any logistical hitches.
And ......probably more importantly, our two cats who always leave home when we go away on hols (and the neighbour feeds them) were waiting on the mat as we pulled up - me thinks they knew it would be a good night to hang about and join in the celebrations
Thanks for everyone who has given me support over the last two years, answered my long, drawn out pm's, replied openly on the site time after time, you have been so great THANK YOU SO MUCH and my little soldier says thanks as well
Ambridge x
PS Did I mention my daughter takes her 11+ in October - perhaps I should de-register now, not sure you are up to supporting me on another long haul journey!!!

Oh, my beloved 12+ elf!
I am so happy for you right now! I was thinking about you only a few hours ago and wondering why I hadn't heard.
You so deserve this wonderful news, as did DS. You fought a great case, and you have the result you both deserve.
So very, very happy for you all.
CONGRATULATIONS!

P.S. No need to whisper, dearest Elf - DS2 will be there in October too. We can prop each other up, even if everyone else deserts us!

Hey - what great news - well done!
Your perseverance has paid off so all you have to do now is relish the celebrations and enjoy sewing that badge onto the blazer! (I'll bet they didn't tell you about that at the open day all those years ago! )
Best wishes to you and your family and I hope your DS enjoys his new school.
