VR Question - can't figure it out!!
Hello all,
My DS justg did test 5 of the learning together VR book 1 and there is a mathsy type question in there and we don't have a clue how the answer has been arrived at!! Can someine help please?
The question is as follows:
Complete these sequences by inserting the correct number in the brackets.
8 27 64 125 ( )
The answer is 216 but we don't know why!!
Also are these books good prep if we are applying to QE, Dr Challoners, Merchant Taylors, Habs, John Lyon? He has finished the book just wondering if it's worth me buying the next book in the series.
Thanks and Regards

Hi perplexed
Mathematical questions appear in verbal reasoning papers because of the "reasoning" that is required to work them out.
Numbers are considered to be part of vocabulary and are therefore "verbal".
Number series questions are not much different to letter series questions in that there is a logical counting forward, counting backward process that uses a specific rule that needs to be identified by the student.
