How is the Slough 11+ administered??
Can anyone shed any light on how the 11+ is administered. My child will be sitting the test at his current school. There is a 50 min VR test, 50 min Maths test and 20 min NVR test. That's a total testing time of 2 hrs which seems a long time for a 10 yr old. I was wondering whether the children were given a break between tests and whether the tests were spread out throughout the school day. Also it would be helpful to know the order in which the tests are given. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
HI
I can only give you an idea of what happened last year.
My son sat his 11+ at Slough Grammar on a Saturday.
He was given the VR followed straight after by the NVR.... there was then a short break (approx 15 mins according to my son) and then they did the Maths.
Unfortunately I cannot confirm that this was the same in the slough schools or whether the order of the tests is the same each year.

Dear Chad and Guest,
My son also took the exam on Saturday last year in Slough Grammar. But the order I remember was NVR, short break, VR, long break, Maths.
We received these details with the invitation to the test, but of course I don't have the letter anymore, so can't confirm whether my memory is failing or not.
The whole thing took at least 3h 1/2 and it is very hard for 10 years olds. Many children loose concentration during the Maths. The advice is to practice the whole sequence at least once beforehand.
Best of luck

Having dug out my 'invitation to test' letter ( Yes I do keep all paperwork in a nplastic folder labeled Slough Grammar....sad isn't it) I can confirm that Catherine is right. It quoted the timings as follows.....
NVR 9.15am
VR 10.20am
Maths 11.40am
Tests are multiple choice. They should finish about 12.30pm
My son said they started late so didn't have a real break in between the first two tests
