Always seems like very few people on here post about St Michael's!

Good luck to your DD and anyone else sitting the exam. :D

Thank you. I wish everyone well too. My DD is there now, I'm already clockwatching, I think today will go very slow for me. :)

That's what I was thinking. She said it was all very relaxed and friendly and she was sitting near the girls from her primary school. That really put me at ease as I know that would make her happy. Let's hope the day goes well for them. He said going by the list he thought there were about 350 girls this time (7 different locations of approx. 50 girls) :D

Yes there were several rooms - my DD is in a small classroom with about 40/50 girls.

There was also a massive hall with loads of girls.

They had the list of names outside with the allocated room numbers, so I will have a quick look at the total when I pick her up.

If you don't mind, do ask your DD how long she had for each paper - cos I do know (from this website) that they had major problems in 2007 when children in different rooms had a longer/shorter time than others in different rooms. There was a lot of backlash as more and more parents discovered this. The mounting pressure resulted in the school having to recall children in the affected rooms back for emergency re-sits. I hope and pray they have got it right this time.

This is why they have now taken the decision NOT to release any information about the tests beforehand.

My DD is in the main hall. Yes I've read all those posts, and know someone involved in that admissions year. It sounded like a total nightmare. I've asked my DD to try and remember how much time she is given for each paper, and any directions given, and I'll write down notes when she comes out. Otherwise in March if something like that comes up again we'll have all forgotten those sort of details. I am slightly concerned but hope they've ironed all those issues out now. I understand that last year everything went ok as I spoke to some parents from our school whose children were lucky enough to obtain places. Sure it will be ok. :?

Yes that sounds like a good idea.
