If your DS gets in to Beths - you'd better start saving!!
This may apply to the other Grammar schools as well but..
The older DS (in year 10) is off skiing with the school over Easter to Canada for a week.
This is his first school trip.
Costs £1200, plus all the extra's - kit hire and spending money, so nearer £2000.
Fortunately the ex has paid for this out of the maintenance money.
However there is now a 22 day trip the LA, New Zealand and Fiji in summer 2010. Cost £2650 plus spending money !!
Ex is paying £1000, me £1000 and DS £650 before spending money.
We had told him he could go on two trips whilst he was there, so hopefully that is that for him.
So just a warning to get saving or get a second job !!!

thats nothing!!! You are blooming lucky they are in a grammar school! My DS won't pass the 11plus (for many reasons) My husband and I both teach in grammar schools and we are going to have to shell out 12,000 a year for the next 6 years!!!! (Including remortgaging our house for 40 grand or so)
please don't moan
