The book is aimed at the Key Stages Two/Three level, i.e. the transition from Year Six to Seven, and also, especially, at children taking the entrance examinations at 11+.

It takes approximately half a day to thoroughly read and absorb this book. For any parent who is even slightly concerned about their child’s English this will be time well invested.

The highly readable guide identifies common problems and, using child centred techniques and games and concentrating on relaxed child/parent collaboration, works through essential English and common sense, clarity and humour.

Katherine Hamlyn has been teaching English at this level for over twenty-five years and her insightful and highly practical approach to bridge those problem areas in English makes this book an essential part of the 11+ Parent’s library.
