IPS have produced these questions to help younger children and beginners work on the types of questions they will find in the actual practice papers, but these questions have been made easier. This helps all those new to the verbal reasoning format get to grips with what is to come, and develop their own methods of working out the answers.
There are 21 types of questions in the pack and it is recommended that two or three questions from each are tried at any one time. The papers are in “Dual format” which means that they can be attempted in both “Multiple Choice” or “Standard” format. Answering sheets and answers are supplied within the question pack.
For children who need a break from the daily chore of full length (50 minute) papers these are a very convenient format, and more so if you need to brush up on more than one subject that evening without giving your child brain damage!
One of the best features I have discovered in IPS papers is that at the top of every section they note the “type” of question. This is a God send from the parents and tutors perspective.
Instantaneously parents get an insight into the type of questions that their child struggles on. Furthermore parents can easily identify and pick similar questions of the same “type” for further practice.
est of all we found that when using these papers in conjunction with the book IPS Verbal Reasoning Method and Technique (ISBN 0954285328) the “type” of questions can be cross referenced and rapid progress is attained by the child in over coming obstacles.
