Introduction to Examberry 11+ Experts

Examberry are specialists in the 11+ exams with centres in Ealing, Kingston, Heston, New Malden and Thames Ditton. We cover the majority of grammar schools in the aforementioned areas as well as Sutton, Wimbledon and Berkshire to name a few. More details are available on our website.

Our 11+ tuition is carried out in small friendly classes. This allows the children to have a little healthy competition between them but small enough that the tutor is able to give individual attention.

We are specialists in 11+ exams and have an excellent track record. Last year approximately 85-90% of our students were awarded a grammar school place at the following schools:

Tiffin, Langley, Slough, Herschel, Burnham, Non-Such, Sutton, Wilson, Wallington, Queen Elizabeth for Boys, Henrietta Barnet for Girls, Latymer (Hammersmith), St Benedict’s, Notting Hill & Ealing, John Lyon, Merchant Taylor and Hampton.

Examberry 11+ Preparation Courses

In order to give your child the best chance for success, you should enrol them with us for our foundation course which runs during the summer term of Year 4. This foundation course will run for one term (approximately 12 weeks.) It is targeted to strengthen basic Maths and English skills. Our aim is to bolster your child’s confidence and get him or her ready to begin practicing for the 11+ preparation which is essentially Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning.

In the early part of the 11+ course, emphasis is primarily on understanding, mastering and perfecting the techniques needed to tackle the different types of Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning question types. Once the syllabus is completed we start practice papers, at which time, we also address time management skills and revision techniques.

Our classes are limited to a maximum of 8 children. We welcome children from all backgrounds and abilities.

Year 4 11plus Foundation Course: April to July

This is essentially one hour Maths and one hour English. It is slightly geared towards the 11+ preparation and leads on to the 11+ course in January.

We recommend all potential pupils thinking about the 11+ entrance exams to enrol for our foundation course as over the years the pupils who have started with us in September have found it extremely beneficial.

Year 5 11plus Course: September to September (term time)

This follows on very nicely from the foundation course and is one hour Verbal reasoning and one hour Non-Verbal reasoning. We begin by teaching the basic techniques that are required for verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Once the syllabus is completed we progress to practice papers which the children are given each week and for class work and homework. These scores are recorded each week so we can monitor your child’s performance and identify their strengths and weaknesses. Throughout the course we support all parents in helping their child achieve their very best by providing numerous tips and advice in preparation for these extremely competitive grammar school exams.

We always recommend all children sit for several exams both for good practice and allow for contingency and this is reflected in our curriculum.

Homework is set every week with answers and it is essential that this is completed and marked a parent or guardian to ensure the child is practising and reinforcing the techniques and strategies taught in the class work for that particular week.
