St. Olave's Stage 2 - Post test feedback / feeling

While one might need to take a 10 year old's view on any test with a pinch of salt, I'm curious as to what everyone heard from their child about Stage 2. Mine was confident about the maths section and finished it ahead of time but was pressed for time in English (which I didn't expect!). He did mana...

Re: Kent - Result 2023

Thanks, we decided against moving for various reasons. DS has qualified for the three Sutton grammars and we are hoping to land one of those (and if we get, relocate in a less-haphazard and rushed manner) Good idea! all too crazy moving quickly - KFC for March 1st Thank you! Our other options are S...

Re: Kent - Result 2023

We are OOC. Would 389 be good for Skinner's / Judd if we (somehow) move to Kent / closer to the schools? (Do understand they have catchment) Thanks. For Skinners it will depend on where you live and for Judd I would say you have a very good chance but it’s not a slam dunk as it’s hard to predict th...

Re: Sutton, Wallington, Wilson

There's a FOI request post somewhere on here that had a spreadsheet detailing the rank order of boys offered places on 1st March and then from the waiting list. The data was from 2019 and I cannot find if it was SGS or WCGS, BUT it should offer you some comfort to know that the boy who was ranked 5...

Re: Sutton, Wallington, Wilson

I'm in the same position. Having passed all 3 schools doesn't guarantee a place. Does anybody know what are the chances for not getting any of the 3 schools? It seems so pointless dor a child to have worked so hard to pass the exams but end up into a local comprehensive school instead. I guess mayb...

Re: Kent - Result 2023

You could say it is more ‘nuanced’ in their policy but if you speak to admissions they are quite clear being outside the priority area , you are discouraged from applying . This is very clear and the message has filtered through over the years to prospective applicants. Sure, I'm quoting what's in ...

Re: Kent - Result 2023

And, on a side note, nowhere in Tiffin's policy do they say they don't accept OOC children. They specify that those living in the Priority Area get the nod, and usually there are enough children who fit that criterion who rank above the cutoff. There is a slight nuance there. You could say it is mo...

Re: Kent - Result 2023

Thanks Toadmum. I have reviewed these . In response to previous comments, I guess there is a little bit less clarity regarding admissions as opposed to somewhere like Tiffin’s where they are clear about not accepting OOC, as I understand. I understand the anxiety but don't think anyone has a crysta...
