Re: Brampton Manor knocks Westminster off top Oxbridge table

This is such an inspiring and heart-warming achievement Not when you consider that their 6th form is academically selective. The 2020 Government stats show that only 41% of internal students advanced to school 6th forms after GCSEs. It does not indicate how many of the internal students went to oth...

The Arkwright Scholarship

Not sure where the best place is to post this but I'm looking for an insight into the Arkwright Scholarship interview.

My DC is having the interview next week and has asked what it involves.

If anyone can offer any advice, tips or general insight, I would much appreciate it.

Re: St Clement Danes vs Hershel Grammar School

Based on your experience, can you please share views for both the school. I doubt many will be in a position to comment on both of these schools. Perhaps reconsider why you placed these schools on the CAF and the order that you placed them in. Consider what it was about the two schools that stood o...

Re: Parmiters 2021 Intake Query

Does anyone know how long are we allowed to wait on the waiting list? I heard that for the local state schools you can wait as long as you want however for the grammar schools list will be continue until end of December then will be cancel. Is that correct? I appreciate that if anyone can answer. T...

Re: GSCE 2021?

DS1 received his predicted grades in November but also sat all mocks before the Christmas break. Same here. We needed the predicted grades in order to apply for 6th form and some of the application deadlines were December. My DS has most of the results back for his mocks which exceeded some of his ...

Re: QMGS or BVGS

But you said you declined your QM place on the 8th. Have you or haven't you? No they didn't. It looks like they were offered a school and have since been offered a higher preference school off wait list (on the 8th). It looks like OP is now trying to decide which school to opt for. OP, I imagine yo...

Re: Do we need to ramp it up?

Personally I know a few parents who threw everything they possibly could at the 11 plus (which cost them a small fortune) and are now saying they wished their DC had never sat it. I assume their children didn't pass then? They wouldn't have said that if they had!! I appreciate that some parents ref...
