Re: Sibling Rule and Grammar Schools

I'm not local, but it will tell you clearly in the admissions criteria, which will be on the school websites.
ETA: I've just had a very quick look at the Marling one & I can't see anything about siblings in there.

Re: GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALLOCATIONS 2024

I'm not sure you will find any environment not dominated by these things, to be honest. DS's best friend at his GS was obsessed with one of the ones you mention & played in tournaments around the country. He's just graduated with a first in engineering from one of the top unis for his particular...

Re: GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALLOCATIONS 2024

Don't forget the stress & impact of having a huge number of exams. I think when I took my O levels back in the dark ages I had 15 or 16 exams. My youngest had something like 28 - 9 of them for science. Apart from anything, it's just exhausting. Some children will be more resilient in this sort o...

Not sure from where we got late applicants when we all applied together.

Re: School bus service serving KING EDWARDS 2024

When there are posts about car shares, we always like to include some advice from our rules & FAQ section: Checklist when considering a car share : • How much do you really know about the other parent from a child safeguarding point of view? ( Remember, anyone working with children, e.g. bus dri...

Have you read all of this section? I think it might answer some of your questions, particularly section D.

Re: Buckinghamshire allocations 01 March 2024

Thanks @scary mum. Yes, it's little bit confusing as one of the parents mentioned in a FB forum that his boy got through waiting list to AGS this morning, so wanted to check if anyone else got any place in any of the schools as well today. Yes, it's a sort of waiting list, but not! I'm sure there w...

Re: Buckinghamshire allocations 01 March 2024

According to this page , reallocations will happen (from places rejected in the first round) on April 3rd, ie today, but no waiting place positions will be given. This will happen on 15 April after the "second round" of allocations. For some reason the allocations today are called "re...
