Re: GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALLOCATIONS 2024

I think STRS are still doing their appeals so it will be interesting to see if any on their waiting list have successful appeals. We are on the list for Marling. I know the chances are very slim now. Best of luck everyone. Same. Preparing kiddo for the allocated school. Do we know the average score...

Re: GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALLOCATIONS 2024

Is that the most over PAN they've ever gone? Wow.

I think Ribston appeals are ongoing, Crypt are over, STRS, Denmark and Marling are this week? Not sure on SHS or Pates.

Waiting list for Marling isn't moving at all.

Re: Marling Travel

It’s so frustrating that as the Stagecoach areas are “Glos/Chelt” and “Stroud/Dursley” there are less ticket options, and it’s significantly more expensive than travelling a greater distance from Gloucester over to Cheltenham. But I’m relieved it’s not £9 a day!

Re: Marling Travel

SHS don’t have photo ID. Or at least the year 9s don’t.

Re: GLOUCESTERSHIRE ALLOCATIONS 2024

Has anyone moved at all on the waiting lists?

Most schools seem to have stuck at higher rankings this year. I wonder if many are private school students and the parents are waiting to see what the outcome of the election actually means for school fees to pay?

How are the appeals going everyone? When do you hope to hear? Fingers crossed for you.

Re: Denmark Road new catchment based admission policy

Wonder if the fact they only have 136 or so on roll in year 7 when the PAN is 150 is making a difference?

Re: Denmark Road new catchment based admission policy

I’d highly recommend any parent of a child applying for the school email the admissions officer for clarification. (And post the response here if they are able to!)

Re: Denmark Road new catchment based admission policy

This is how I read it too, and it really puts me off putting my daughter through the process. It would be extra demoralising to miss out because of scoring too high for criterion 5 and then too low for criterion 7. Even more so if lower scoring friends got in through criterion 5. I was hoping to be...

Re: Denmark Road new catchment based admission policy

Okay maybe I’m reading it differently but once you get to that category for the priority score, it will allow new girls to go on the waiting list with GL1-4 postcodes and priority scores leaping the out of city with qualifying scores. But for in city girls (if we exclude children in care and ECHP et...
