Re: QE ALLOCATIONS 2023

Essentially it means taking a private bus service which means pick up and drop of times are fixed. If the child then wants to participate in any pre school or after school activity (which I believe every child should do) then you have the issue around arranging your own pick up or drop off. Some of ...

Re: QE ALLOCATIONS 2023

I know of a few boys who, in the end, turned down places at QE due to distance and travel time (about 10 miles and 45-50 min away). They decided to go to other Grammars that were closer - personally I think that's the right call.

Re: QE ALLOCATIONS 2023

Agree 100% We're looking at 35-40 min on public transport, or 15 min in the car. You have to strike the right balance - upto 3 hours commuting per day is no fun for a child. What is the norm commute time for London year 7 students to top grammar and private schools? private coach or public transport...

Re: QE ALLOCATIONS 2023

My son is taking up a place at Latymer, but would also have received an offer from QE. The Latymer is closer, but QE was 'only' a 50 min journey on a private bus. However, participating in after school activities is important to us, and if he'd done that at QE it would mean a 90 min journey home on...

Re: Different Latymer Ranks

Thanks for that. Interestingly, the children whose ranking has fallen (that I know of), are in the top 100. Outside of that, rankings have improved. It must mean a lot of those non academic rankings have landed in the top 100. Ie they jump straight to the top as they are guaranteed places

Re: Different Latymer Ranks

I'm also aware of some children whose rank has got worse. That one I can't explain.

Re: Different Latymer Ranks

My son has now received a January revised ranking of 230, am I right in thinking this is a virtually guaranteed place? Yes, if you refer to the communication sent by the school previously you'll see the last place offered in March and the last place offered in September. 230 is guaranteed for a Mar...
