Re: Admission as pupils premium

The website also says: For the school to receive Pupil Premium funding, the child must have been registered and in receipt of Free School Meals (due to family low income for example) at any point in the last six years. This is different to Universal Free School Meals which all children in Reception ...

Re: Newport and Adams results 2023 for 2024 entry

Changing topic slightly, at what score for Adams does everyone think that they can relax somewhat (appreciate that there are no guarantees) Lowest score last March on offers day was approx 314 (so approx 209)?

Re: Newport and Adams results 2023 for 2024 entry

But there’s nothing to say it’s an equal split in their admissions policy. And doesn’t that make it even more unfair on the boys who already have fewer options. If it’s 50:50 and as @hermanmunster says, there’s 15 boys boarding, there will be near on no ooc places for boys Totally agree is extremel...

Re: Newport and Adams results 2023 for 2024 entry

One of the pieces of legislation underpinning the Admissions Code is the Equality Act 2010 - under this, only single-sex schools can refuse admission on the grounds that the applicant isn't the right variety, so to speak. If Adams has declared that the 2024 day intake onwards will be mixed, then th...

Re: Newport and Adams results 2023 for 2024 entry

Hi All, Regarding Adams, does anyone know if the allocations are 50:50 for boys and girls or, is it once all pp and catchment school places are filled, it’s simply based on score. I’ve seen nothing to suggest it’s an equal split but others I’ve spoken are under the impression it’s an equal divide. ...

Re: Newport and Adams results 2023 for 2024 entry

I wonder any boys have received any letters from Adam’s, so far the only email I received was from Queen Mary’s where my son took his exam I doubt that you will receive anything from Adams. My DC sat at Adams and they were quite clear that we would only receive 1 email with results from the school ...

Re: Results 2023 for 2024 entry to school

Hello everyone, Please could someone tell me what a score of 225 this year would convert to using last year's scoring system? I thought I saw a formula on here somewhere but can't find it now  Thanks I think its (times) x 1.5. But not 100% sure what happens if the result comes into decimal ? ...

Re: Results 2023 for 2024 entry to school

For those looking at Walsall. Wolves and Wrekin: The Walsall schools have posted equivalent scores, where the multiplier is approx. 1.5 So 200s score x 1.5 gives you a rough estimation of what your child would have scored in the 300s. Hopefully you can use this to see how well your DC has done compa...

Re: Results 2023 for 2024 entry to school

Email has landed!!!!!!! We scored 235 The lowest score on 1st March to gain a place was 314/315. We're not PP and not in a catchment school. This year Adams goes co-ed so more competition for the same amount of places - with more children in catchment schools (although Newport girls is just up the r...
