Re: june child

Have a look in the sticky at the top of this section - you can probably make a guess from the information there. It will vary slightly each year.

Re: How Do You Spell Yours?

I would say rooves but would probably write "roofs" as this has come up with my DCs spellings in the past - they have ben taught that both are correct (in fact funnily enough we were talking abou it last night!).

Re: Grammars in top 80%

I know, I think they stopped it about 5 years ago. Quite how they qualify as a speacialist language school is also beyond me. My DD is year 10 and there are 3 girls taking French in her year. (More taking Spanish and presumably German, I suppose). I imagine a compulsory language will be reintroduced...

Any suggestions for boys? My year 5 DS has done Harry Potter/Percy Jackson etc. Had a stab at Eragon last year and will go back to that I think. I will try him on the Hobbit as suggested, I had forgotten about that one. My other DS enjoyed the Redwall books if anyone else is looking for suggestions ...

Re: Chinese parenting

Reading the Times, this mother has abandoned her methods now - I did tell my DD to read the article in the Sunday Times as she accuses me of pushing her too hard ("Really, darling, you've finished all your homework in 20 minutes, do you think you've done it to your best ability? I know you want...

Re: Advice on French holiday campsites

Parc de Alicorts in the Loire is nice. All the big companies go there although I think they call it something different. We booked direct with the site and had one of their bunglaows which was MUCH nicer than a mobile home, and cheaper. I presume they still do the same. It was a lovely site, only dr...
