Would anyone recommend a book or a website that help creating metaphors? I am helping my Dd in her creative writing and tought that it would be good to have a bank of those, but not the obvious, cliche ones.
We are preparing for the Common Entrance Exam.

I think a bank of them is a good idea, but probably similes and metaphors you have come up with yourselves. Anything in a book is more likely to be a cliche. You could practise describing things when you're in the car, going shopping, etc.

There are work units on metaphors and similes in:

First Aid English by Angus Maciver
and
No Nonsense English 10-11 (Bond).

I don't know of any books dedicated solely to the topic.
