Re: Comprehension
Thanks, um.
I'm tutoring my nephew and bought this because he's a bit hit-and-miss at the moment. We have all of the Bond books and I know they're a bit of a nightmare towards the end - I just wanted to make sure we'd covered as many strategies as possible. When I worked with my own son, we ran out of time and weren't able to cover the last 2 books, and I remember feeling slightly relieved. (He thought that the exam was much easier than the practice papers.)
My nephew will actually need to be familiar with both formats.
It will also come in handy at work as we use the easier Bond books with our low-literacy pupils: a gentle (?) introduction to the KS3 reading papers.

Re: Comprehension
Maybe I ought to rethink my career: teaching comprehension skills when I am incapable of reading the introduction carefully?
