Do you think this would be mildly amusing for an 8 year old to use?
Just through talking and discussing books etc I realise that my 6 year old seems to add new words and their meanings more easily to her memory "without trying" than my 8 year old. So I'm wondering if I might have to use some slightly "artificial" means with my 8 year old, gently, over time.
Do you think this product might work or can you suggest something else? I think it needs to be structured and well thought out - not just more "hoping it will happen" from reading, listening to stories, discussion, scrabble games etc. Although a good game would not come amiss. Looking things up in the dictionary every two minutes would not be popular either, unless there was a really good talking dictionary with definitions an 8 year old could understand for themselves.
