Does anybody have a link to good examples of completed persuasive writing questions? Of the genre "Should everybody should learn to play a musical instrument?" or "Is is better to learn to play a musical instrument or a sport?"
I've seen examples on here for stories but not the debate type piece.
Thanks.

I think there are guidelines in the Bond ‘How to’ series for English on persuasive writing. Stuff like making three comparisons, using language like ‘I’m sure you will agree that...’, putting in research figures etc. There was another general 11+ English guide too - Collins perhaps. Or maybe look for persuasive writing in key stage 3 English on the BBC Bitesize website

Using the Bond Focus on Writing is quite good. There are a few other Bond books that look at various styles of writing. This is more likely a debate prompt. Also remind your child not to use contractions in formal writing i.e I'm , you'll etc.
