Creative/Extended writing

Post by ciaowood »

Hi, I'm struggling to find a comprehensive set of the full range of possible writing prompts and examples that may pop up in the exam e.g. leaflets, newspaper reports, continuations etc.

I have the Bond 'Focus on Writing' book and their 'How To Do English'; they're ok but they don't give enough examples that cover all options (not enough for me anyway!).

Any advice or other book suggestions would be great, thank you.

Twinkl and TeachIt both have free resources until the end of the month. You could try on there.

Thanks, Twinkl has become my middle name over the last couple of weeks! I haven't checked out TeachIt yet though so will have a look.

I think I'm just confused with approaching looking at a leaflet. Should I split showing a leaflet/poster as initially a) a persuasive version and then b)a more informative version or should I just combine and show you can use persuasive language in both? I think I'm overthinking it and would really like to look at different examples.

Thanks.

I'm going to try the Eleven Plus Exams 'Creative Writing Examples Book' - hopefully that'll do the trick :)

TeachIt Primary might be what you need.
