Re: Choosing Grammar School
I don't doubt that there are better systems and have written extensively on them myself. I understand and agree with many of the arguments against GCSE, especially now there is not really a jump-off point at 16. What I don't actually understand, Foreseer, is what advice you are giving to the parents on the forum who wanted advice on choosing a school. Move to Dartford? Or America?
Re: Choosing Grammar School
No, actually I don't think anyone can quite 'imagine' how much you know , since you won't provide examples of what you mean. Tell us how the 'spoonfeeding' works in different subject areas and give us some solid proof. I don't think a newspaper article from 3 years ago is going to cut it, really. Are you actually a teacher, Foreseer? I note you use the verb 'work' but not 'teach'. There is an inference to be drawn there......Foreseer wrote:I work in secondary school and so is my partner. (Speaking as a pedant, I assume you intended to say 'so does my partner'. I hope you did anyway as I wouldn't want anyone with poor grammar to be going anywhere near my dc at GCS level )
