Posting on behalf of a friend. DC scored 125 in Slough consortium. As per UCGS there are 120 places without any catchment. Does this mean UCGS disregard the address completely.
Correct, except if a tie-breaker situation arises for the lowest score to fill 120 seats, my understanding is distance comes in play.

Historical data shows by the time term started, the waiting list seem to run to 117 score range. 1/Mar (Natl Offer Day), this cut-off is usually 122ish.

Good luck.

Thank you. Will convey as its useful info for their CAF preference and their decisions to shift next year if at all.

Best one can do is look at historical data, and make own assumptions/decisions.

On Score criteria historical data shows by the time term started, the waiting list seem to run to 117 score range. 1/Mar (Natl Offer Day), this cut-off is usually 122ish. On distance criteria, it remained inside 2 miles in 2021 entry.

Hi - My daughter scored 113 in the Slough exam and we are keen on HGS (but live in Reading - so far from catchment). Why are the chances? I believe catchment / distance is only relevant when 2 students have the exact same score?

Last year’s data suggested all students with more than 112 were ranked - does that mean all students with 112 and more got in (irrespective of where they live)?

Thanks for your guidance.

Looking at the admission criteria your DD will be considered after LAC, all those in catchment DC with a score of 111 upwards, up to 10 PP over 111 within 10 miles and children of staff. If that does not reach PAN then rank order applies. Distance is only then relevant if 2 DC have the same score. It is a question of whether you think they will need to go as far as 5v to meet pan, and if they do, whether they will need to go as far as 113. No-one can predict this accurately. Unless there has been a change in admissions criteria since last year (I'm not sure) then previous data can give you a rough idea.
