Slough Grammar vs Reading boys results

I was wondering if there is anybody out there with a boy that went (in the previous years) through both Slough Grammar and Reading boys 11+ exams.

We have now the results from Slough for our DS (happy and relieved that he got 119) but we are still preparing for Reading (that is our first option)

Would be great if somebody can share the scores they got for the two schools. We are just trying to understand if he stands any chance to get into Reading school.

Thanks.

Hi donBS,

Welcome to the forum. :)

They are different exams on different days always hard to compare results, but I can understand why you are asking.

As a general rule results improve with real exam experience and less exam nerves. :)

Hopefully some one with relevant experience will be along shortly.

Please let us know how it goes, my DS2 is working towards 2010 exam.

Good luck.

The tests are different in so much as RGS sit Maths, Eng and a Reasoning paper. The maths are of differing levels, Slough exam is of a higher level, whilst the Reasoning is the same level but different questions. DS achieved 123 when sitting the Slough 11+ test and managed entry to RGS.

Steve is correct; Papers cannot really be compared. From our perspective he sat the Slough exam for the experience of sitting a real test. He did comment after the RGS 11+, that he was pleased that he had sat the Slough 11+, as he wasn't as nervous for the real one.
